Description
Business Analyst
About the role:
As a Business Analyst, you will play a critical role in ensuring that customer feedback turns into clear, actionable product improvements. You will be responsible for reviewing incoming feedback, validating issues, structuring requirements, and supporting delivery through to completion. You will work closely with Customer Success, Product, and Engineering to ensure that feedback is researched, properly defined, and ready for implementation. You will act as the bridge between raw customer input and execution-ready development work.
What you can expect:
Feedback Review & Research:
- Review incoming and historical banks of customer feedback.
- Investigate unclear or incomplete requests by researching directly in the product.
- Reproduce workflows to understand issues firsthand.
- Conduct follow-up discussions with Customer Success and, when appropriate, directly with customers to validate context, frequency, and business impact of reported issues.
- Perform external validation when needed — including customer interviews, workflow reviews, and light competitive research — to ensure proposed tickets reflect real market needs, not isolated requests.
- Identify recurring themes and patterns across feedback.
- Distinguish between bugs, usability issues, workflow gaps, and enhancements.
Ticket Definition & Documentation:
- Translate validated feedback into structured Jira tickets.
- Write clear problem statements and document business impact.
- Define acceptance criteria and expected outcomes.
- Outline edge cases and ensure a clear definition of done.
- Ensure tickets are detailed enough for Engineering to execute without ambiguity.
- Reduce back-and-forth during development by improving upfront clarity.
Backlog Management & Prioritization Support:
- Maintain a structured backlog of feedback-driven work.
- Keep tickets organized, updated, and ready for refinement sessions.
- Support Product Managers in assessing urgency and impact.
- Ensure small but meaningful improvements remain visible and do not get lost.
Delivery Support & Follow-Through:
- Participate in backlog refinement sessions.
- Clarify requirements during implementation when needed.
- Review completed work to ensure it resolves the original issue.
- Track shipped improvements and ensure visibility across teams.
- Collaborate with marketing on GTM and newsletters updates when required.
Desired Skill Set:
- 2–5 years of experience in Business Analysis, Product Operations, or similar roles within a SaaS environment.
- Experience partnering closely with Engineering teams to translate business needs into clear, actionable requirements.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to clearly articulate complex ideas verbally and in writing to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Excellent documentation skills and attention to detail, with the ability to create structured, user-friendly artifacts.
- Ability to work independently, take initiative, and proactively drive work forward, even when operating with incomplete or ambiguous information.
- Demonstrated problem-solving skills, sound judgment, and a resourceful approach to research and decision-making.
- Comfortable collaborating cross-functionally with Engineering, Customer Success, and Product teams to align on priorities and outcomes.
- Experience working with workflow-heavy SaaS products is considered an asset.
- Familiarity with Jira and Notion.
