Senior Frontend Engineer
What we are looking for:
We are looking for a seasoned frontend engineer who combines deep technical craft with a strong sense of how complex, data-intensive products should feel to the people who use them every day. The ideal candidate has built and maintained frontend systems where clarity, performance, and accuracy are non-negotiable, ideally within a financial services, fintech, or other regulated and data-heavy context. They bring strong judgment in modern frontend ecosystems, an instinct for building accessible and maintainable interfaces at scale.
What you can expect:
- Design, develop, and enhance frontend functionalities, ensuring efficient implementation, seamless deployment, and consistent delivery of features that meet customer needs.
- Actively participate in Scrum ceremonies, including planning, stand-ups, reviews, and retrospectives, to align with team goals and project timelines.
- Build the user-facing experiences that sit on top of core ledger capabilities, including guided entry workflows, journal entry interfaces, chart of accounts management, and the reporting layer, with a focus on usability, clarity, and data integrity at the point of input.
- Partner closely with Product, Design, QA, and Backend Engineering to deliver a cohesive, accessible, and high-standard customer experience across every touchpoint of the product.
- Contribute to the design and development of new features, evaluating trade-offs across scalability, maintainability, performance, accessibility, and long-term system health.
- Contribute to the evolution of the design system and shared component library, ensuring consistency and reusability across the product.
Desired skill set:
- Minimum of 5+ years of experience building modern web application using React and Transcript (or similar frameworks)
- Deep knowledge of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and frontend build tools
- Strong understanding of design system principles, component reusability, and frontend performance optimization.
- Proven ability to deliver complex user interfaces where clarity, accuracy, and accessibility are non-negotiable.
- Prior exposure to financial services, fintech, accounting, or other regulated software environments will be considered a strong asset.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate technical decisions to both engineering and non-engineering stakeholders.
- This position requires advanced English proficiency (written and verbal) to effectively collaborate with team members located in other provinces and in the United States.
